Graduate Advising

All incoming MA students are assigned an interim faculty adviser upon starting the MA program.  This interim adviser works with the Director of Graduate Studies to advise Masters students when they enter the MA program until they choose an official advisor. MA students must select their official adviser by at least the first week of the second year of the program; until then, the student should work with the interim adviser and the Director of Graduate Studies to plan a course of study. 

The Associate Chair of the department serves as the advisor for the PhD Minor in Gender and Women's Studies and the Graduate Certificate in Gender and Women’s Studies.
