Artist’s Statement

The main topics of my recent work are astrological themes and their relation to feminine nature.  My work harmonizes ancient philosophy with a current view of the cosmic symbols and their connection to the topics of the essence of woman in a natural world, feminine purity and divinity.  In my pictures, I strive for a modern experience of the harmony, diversity, and beauty of these relationships as they give rise to new relationships between Man, Woman and Nature.  I follow with pen or pencil as fantasy and mystery weave through the significance of these ideas and unfold and develop into the compositions created in various printmaking techniques as you see now.

The picture "The Sun and The Moon" represents a Royal Marriage, unity of harmonious relationship between female and male. The aim of their union would be to promote the fruitfulness of the earth, of a mankind, and a creation of the new generation.

In the drawing "Taurus", the image of the Bull represents extreme determination and the strength of will (male part), which loyally and willingly follows the leader, a Woman-rider.

In the art piece "The Face of the Moon" I explore the female identification of the Moon. The different cultures saw a strong connection between image of the Moon and a woman's essence.

The picture "Garden" opens a topic of duality of human nature. The composition reflects two sides of woman's character: a bright, positive and beautiful side and the other, dark and mysterious side.
